Today Is A Beautiful Day

Here I am at home with my beautiful toddler and amazing baby! At first I was depressed because it is just the two of them and me today (my older son went to his grandparents and my husband went to work). I am here thinking it is just like any other day. Which in a way it is but really it is not. It is Christmas Day and I am blessed to spend it with two of my most precious gifts that any one could ever ask for. Today has been great! The three of us took "a long winters nap", much needed nap that is. We had a LOT happen yesterday and it is actually very nice to have a break in between celebrations. Tomorrow is the big celebration with my husbands side of the family. I love how close and strong this family is. I am proud and fortunate to have married into a family that is unbreakable. 

I have a tenancy to get "gushy" sometimes and this is one of those times. I often wonder about my friends and acquaintances who choose not to get married or not to have children..... Why? How do you look at the world? I am too polite to ask anyone to their face because it may be reasons that are too personal. I look at it like this... YES it is hard a lot of times and YES it is true I don't get to (nor do I want to) party all of the time and YES it is even true that I sacrifice things I want really bad for my family. But to me, I am growing a support system, best friends, maybe even the next president?, and when I am old I will have my family to take care of us as we (my husband and me) have taken care of them and basically following the circle of life. I feel like I totally "get it". I get what life is all about and found the meaning of it through my family. That is why today, even though seemingly to be much like any other day is one fabulous Christmas Day for us! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

I must post all of the free samples I find..... it is fun for me to look for them. I hit the mother load the last couple of days! I have been pretty busy at home on these days leading to Christmas Eve so I have not had a lot of time to post a lot of new things. I will be posting some pictures and recipes soon. Another Full Day...

So much to do so little time! I seem to be so busy but get absolutely nothing done! Today's plan was to get up, clean house, go to Walmart to pick up a few items and make Chex Party Mix. I got all except the make Chex Mix done, oh yeah and of course I forgot a couple of the few items so I will try again tomorrow. Ever since I have been at home with the children I can not concentrate on anything while they around and it is only getting worse! My youngest is staying awake a lot more, my 1 and 11/12's year old is into everything, on everything and everywhere my oldest is just fine other than the attitude he has acquired this school year. I will stop at nothing to get this Chex Mix made too! My granny just turned 89 made this stuff for years and years and now enjoys reminiscing about "the good ole days". This will give her another fond memory to reminisce about and that means a lot to her and me.

As if this all is not enough for me to handle, I have decied to have a 2nd Birthday party for my lil boo! It will be worth all the hard work in the end. These are the days I must cherish as one day I may not have any excitement at all in my life. And for me doing all of this and showing my kids how much they mean to me and how much I love them maybe just maybe they will visit me often when I am old. --- THEY BETTER!!!!

Christmas Schedule

I am sooo ready for Christmas! All (except 1) presents are bought and wrapped. I just have to make some chex mix. I have decided to give out chex mix to family instead of the cookies or candy this year. Too bad 2 of my 3 kids have no clue as to all the excitement that is forthcoming! I am most excited to see the reaction of my almost 2 yr old will have to all of this. Oh and I am excited for my 11 yr old to open his big gift (he is going to LOVE it)  and I can't wait to eat all of that yummy food! I am not looking forward to the extra calories I am about to consume though, oh well that is what New Years Resolutions are for..... Only 4 days (including today) until Christmas Eve! That is when our festivities begin!

Christmas Eve I am bringing boneless hot wings and potato skins. That is the day our family does finger foods (which I really like) and everyone comes at their leisure and just has a nice "no stress" holiday. Christmas Day will not be my favorite day this year because my husband has to work, my older son is going to his other dads house and I will be alone with the two little ones. Which will be just like any other day almost. Then on the 26th we have the big party. That day I will be bringing some potato yummy and maybe some peanut butter bars. That about sums it up! That is my family holiday this year.

Easy Crock Pot Roast

Ingredients:

• 1 beef roast (any cut you want to use)
• 1 packet onion soup mix
• 1 can cream of mushroom soup
• 1-2 cups dry red wine

Directions:

Put all ingredients in crock pot turn on low in the morning and will be ready at dinner time. I like to stir it up a few times in between but if you work you can let it go. I serve over egg noodles at my house!
